yes to "ouch!", "buzzkill", "ewww", and "scary"!

gout is a kidney thing where your kidneys produce too much uric acid or something that crystalizes and causes joint problems.

it hurts like a fucking bitch.

and now i can't drink alcohol (particular beer and red wine), heavy meats (like steak or organ meats...no brain for me, damn), and strictly monitor my protein intake. like i don't already have enough dietary restrictions! apparently combining alcohol with the meat is especially bad.

i've had kidney type issues before, infections and such, so i think i'm going to go to the doctor and have her see how they're doing.

Ago,
that sucks. I've had it before (you'll never get rid of it) and it is NO fun.

Gout has traditionally been called the disease of kings and the king of diseases. It has been known for several thousand years. It was most common in those who had the wealth and leisure to be sedentary, eat a rich diet and drink substantial amounts of alcohol.

it's the alcohol that does me in....

Does this mean NO alcohol and NO red meat? If it were me, you'd just have to take me out back and shoot me! Hope things work out OK somehow! If your foot ever DOES get to looking like that, take pics!!!!
